가을에 듣기 좋은 추천 재즈 곡들

가을입니다.

몇 주 전부터 에어컨이 필요 없는 완벽한 가을이 찾아왔었죠.

9월의 마지막 날인 오늘의 포스트는 가을에 듣기 좋은 재즈 곡을 딱 3곡만 추천하겠습니다.

첫 추천 곡은 스탠 게츠^{Stan Getz}가 연주한 버전의 Indian Summer입니다.

예전에 운영했던 블로그에서도 추천했던 적이 있는 곡인데, 여기서는 처음이니 한번 가져와봤습니다.

이 곡은 제목에 Summer라는 단어가 들어가 있지만 Indian Summer라는 말은 여름을 뜻하는 말이 아닙니다.

indian summer 자체가 하나의 단어로서 사전에 있습니다.

미국의 중앙 또는 동부에서 10월 말이나 11월에 계절에 맞지 않게 건조하고 온난한 날씨가 나타나는 기간을 Indian Summer라고 합니다.

그러니 이 곡은 제목에 summer라는 단어가 들어가 있지만 여름 곡이 아니라 10~11월에 어울리는 곡입니다.

이 곡의 원곡자는 빅터 허버트^{Victor Herbert}로 Indian Summer의 원곡은 무려 1919년에 작곡되었습니다.

두 번째 추천곡은 엘라 피츠제럴드^{Ella Fitzgerald}가 부른 버전의 Early Autumn입니다.

엘라 피츠제럴드의 1956년에 발매된 싱글에 먼저 이 곡이 수록됐었고, 1964년에 발매된 앨범인 Ella Fitzgerald Sings the Johnny Mercer Songbook에 새로운 버전이 다시 수록됩니다.

여기에 올린 버전은 1964년 버전입니다.

마지막으로 소개할 곡은 냇 킹 콜^{Nat King Cole}이 부른 버전의 When Sunny Gets Blue입니다.

이 곡은 제목이나 가사에 가을과 직접적으로 연관이 되는 단어가 들어가 있지는 않지만, 원곡인 조니 마티스^{Johnny Mathis} 버전이 1956년 9월에 녹음되었고, 그래서인지 곡 분위기 자체도 가을 분위기가 물씬 풍기기 때문에 가을에 듣기 좋은 재즈곡으로 추천해 봅니다.
